Exquisite cousin, which is not surprising in Sonoma City, whenever I visited this restaurant, I always had a great experience. Our waiter was absolutely delightful and respectful to our conversation. My wonderful friends can be a little tricky to handle as they are old school picky ladies. Nevertheless we’ve got the best service and were left alone when were discussing the world saving super serious matters. That requires the skill and tact.Should I mention that our food was outstanding, as well ? As well as the girl ad the fig rosé of Grenache and Carignane produced for the restaurant by Cochon Wines. Deeelight!

We walked up the same day and got a reservation on a Sunday. Granted our reservation would be at 7 PM, but we felt lucky that we were able to get a reservation in the first place. The food was fantastic, we got a cheese and fig platter with some bread and crackers as our starter. We shared that among the 6 of us and it was delicious. An assortment of cheeses and spreads that could have been a whole meal itself.I got the quiche which was fantastic. It was dense, but fluffy, firm but moist. It melted in my mouth as I took a bit and the arugula paired nicely. I'm not a huge fan of arugula, but the cheese they topped it with seemed to mute the arugula flavor some.Other people at my table got the duck, the grilled cheese, and the steak. They all said it was delicious, a truly fantastic meal. The service was wonderful, friendly and attentive but not overbearing. The restaurant was definitely high class, but had a dress down type of ambiance that made it more homestyle-like and relaxing.I hope to go there again soon!

Enjoyed the mushroom pasta although could be a tad less creamy. My cousin didn’t like that the peas weren’t softer but I appreciated the crispness. The wild flounder was good as was the spinach and Yukon mash but could’ve used some non-soft texture to balance it out.Our server Dennis was super personable and also great at selling in a natural way. Would’ve loved to get dessert but we had early dinner plans and it was already noon. Cute area to walk around after.

Our first visit was truly exquisite. The beef tartare was a standout, perfectly seasoned and bursting with flavor, while the carrot soup, made from fresh garden produce, was exceptional. Our server was friendly, welcoming, and top-notch, making our experience even more enjoyable. Overall, they delivered an unforgettable dining experience, and we can't wait to return for more culinary delights.

We stopped here for lunch while on a wine tasting tour. The burger was good but might have been better with a stronger cheese like goat. The espresso, cookie, and fries were great. The cookie was a special hit. The shrimp roll was good with a lot of shrimp in a local roll which was also good. Service was friendly and prompt and we liked the atmosphere.

Looking for a lunch or dinner spot? You’ve found it here.Great outdoor seating and ambiance. The food was good but could’ve been a little better. My steak was a little dry but still enjoyed the meal, as did the rest of my party. This is a spot you won’t regret spending your money at. That being said, the prices are a little pricey but nothing extraordinary! Enjoy.

I took my family here while in Sonoma, and it was one of the best meals. Reception was quick, and even though the restaurant was mostly full, it wasn’t too loud to have a conversation. The duck liver mousse was smooth and creamy. The Brussel sprouts and pork belly were a perfect combo - it almost seemed like the pork belly was candied. This could be a meal by itself. The cheese and pate platter was good, but it was overshadowed by the other starters. The mussels were perfect - the white wine and leek sauce paired well and made for tasty frites. Pro tip - you may consider getting all of mussels out and eating it like a soup. The duck confit was recommended, and it did not disappoint.I’m adding this to my rotation for the next time I’m in Sonoma.

What every Sonoma dining experience is supposed to be, detailed , without stuffy, local and incredible cuisine. Hen house on Tap , with a fluffy quiche and fries, bake Brussels with bacon. Need I say more. Reservations recommended.

Visiting Sonoma for the first time, with so many great choices it's difficult to decide on where to eat. We went for tg&tf.The 2 dishes that everyone says are must have are the duck leg confit and the flounder. Even our waiter recommend them. So we went ahead and did it, along with arugula salad, and a pork belly sandwich. So, to be clear, everything was absolutely delicious and flavorful. The duck leg was juicy, falling off the bone tender, and a delight to eat.The flounder was a perfectly prepared flaky fillet with ever so lightly crispy crust and the potatoes and sauce did not overpower it.Nothing at all to criticize on the preparation, or on the favors. This was an awesome meal. However, was it worth $35 per plate? I'm not so sure.I've prepared flounder myself at home that is just as flaky and crispy. I've smoked chicken thighs that are just as juicy and flavorful, and a duck is just so much easier because it's fattier.I'll concede that the sauces are not something I can do.All said, I thoroughly enjoyed the dinner and would recommend to anyone who is wanting an outing with someone special.

I feel like I lucked out while in Sonoma for 24 hours because everywhere I ate was SO GOOD. Stopped at TG&TF for lunch and it was excellent!Had the grilled cheese which was delicious. And the chips served with dishes are the best I’ve ever had!Friendly staff and was easy to walk in at lunch without a reservation.
Came here during a first time visit to the Napa/Sonoma area and this place was highly recommended. We were able to get a relatively last minute reservation online for a party of 4, for 5:30pm.The food standouts for me were the duck liver mousse, flounder, and mussels. The steak in the steak frite was ordered medium rare but it was close to medium well.Lastly, you can bring your own wine here!

Restaurant that specializes in American food with a fig twist. They have a 3 course meal menu that rotates every Thursday.Crispy chicken livers ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: really unique combo of fried livers, jam, and aioli. Creamy with the fried livers as a contrasting texture.Bay scallops ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: seared scallops on a bed of risotto and butternut squash. Risotto is cooked perfectly with a good bite, and the sauce has a nice buttery flavor. Scallops are also cooked perfectly.Steak tartare ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: well seasoned but has a strong acidic bite from the capers inside the tartare.Wild flounder meunière ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: soft tender flounder on a bed of mashed potatoes, spinach, and topped with capers. Overall, it is very rich and buttery for a fish dish.Duck confit ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: duck confit served on top of lima beans and carrots. Overall done very well but is similar to a lot of other duck dishes out there. Duck comes easily off the but is slightly stringy.Artisan bread ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: soft bread served with whipped butter and salt.Virgin pimms ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: minty cucumbers acidic nonalcoholic drink. Very refreshing but pretty strong minty/leafy flavor.Banana nut bread pudding ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: not the biggest fan of banana desserts, but it's pretty mild, and the toasted walnuts are the main flavor. Pudding is a bit more on the bready side but isn't dry at all and has a little bit of caramelized crunch.Pear and cranberry galette ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: galette topped woth a jammy cooked(?) mix of cranberries and pears topped with vanilla ice cream. Solid dessert but personally not the most memorable taste wise.

I came here for lunch on a weekend and really enjoyed the flat iron steak. It comes with fries and delicious blue cheese butter. I usually don’t like blue cheese, so you may like it if you’re the same way.Parking is difficult during the weekend. Don’t bother spending too much time looking for a parking spot. Instead, park for free at “Arnold Field”, a nearby park with a big parking lot.

I love this restaurant and have brought friends here many times throughout my life in California. The nice atmosphere, the delicious food, and friendly staffs/ bartenders. What else do you need? If you come during lunch time, try the strawberry salad and the crispy pork belly sandwich. If you come during dinner, try duck confit and the pork chop. Yes pork chop is recommended by the bartender and it is very good. Juicy and flavorful. Oh, and get the cookies back home. Reheat it until the chocolate melt and the cookie becomes soft at the center. It is heavenly!

I recently dined at this charming restaurant, and it was a delightful experience. The atmosphere was incredibly cosy, making me feel right at home. The friendly staff added to the welcoming ambiance, providing impeccable service throughout the meal. The food was nothing short of amazing, with each dish boasting perfect taste and presentation. It's no wonder the place was bustling with lots of people, as it's clearly a favorite among locals and visitors alike. If you're looking for a place with great food, a warm atmosphere, and a friendly vibe, this restaurant is a must-visit!

Friday night and the place was cranking! I snuck in at the end of the bar for dinner without a reservation after wine tasting all day, easy when you're a party of one. The very busy bartender was pleasant, attentive, kind to his team and a great host. I went straight for the food and it came out quickly and perfectly timed. I had enough to take some with me and I was on my way. I would return for another full belly of easy, no fuss food.

Overall a very pleasant experience with some tasty food and friendly staff. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is that I found the prices to be a bit steep for what you received. The $24 cheese and fruit selection was definitely a bit steep and included one cheese that both my boyfriend and I found very off putting that neither of us ate. The burger was good, as was the shrimp roll, however for $24 neither dish really wowed us enough to justify the steep cost or warrant 5 stars.

Been here twice for brunch and sat outside in the patio. Weather was nice. Food was excellent and the service was efficient. I shared the egg sandwich and the pork belly hash. They come around an offer, freshly ground black pepper on your food.I was very happy that they offered decaf espresso cocktails. They brought a candle lit cookie for a birthday at our table.Bathrooms are towards the back of the patio.Street parking was very easy because we came early at 10am on a Sunday. Seemed to be the number one suggested place for us to visit so we did. We didn’t have a reservation so we sat at the bar. We were quickly served by the bartender and she made for a pleasant experience. We started with beef tartare which was fantastic and could have been a meal in itself for one.The duck and flounder were quite tasty and would definitely recommend. It’s a neat little place with quite the bustle of people moving in and out. Just celebrated my great aunt's birthday with a large group of our family. They made it easy to organize, let us decorate the tables and order from the regular menu. The service was wonderful from start to finish, with their staff being very attentive and clearing plates and dishes timely. Our orders all pretty much came out together and just as we ordered. The food was good, although I think our burgers were a little undercooked, they still tasted fine. The bacon and fig jam was phenomenal. Their outdoor seating is covered during the winter and it was a nice warm to where we could take off our jackets. It wasn't too loud and we were able to celebrate our great aunt in a wonderful way.

One of the must try restaurants in Sonoma. The environment is cozy and friendly, food are excellent. This was our first time there and all the dishes server suggested to us are well prepared and delicious. The tomatoes salad (sorry I forgot the name) is amazing and you can taste the freshness of the tomatoes! We had such an amazing lunch at The Girl and the Fig today. My wife's quiche and my BLT were on another level. You've got to have the frittes because even with nothing on them, they flavor is so good! The BLT with pork belly and green tomato was fantastic. And thank you to Jeffery our server for the best service in a long time.

Fantastic dining experience! No problem getting an outside table that was dog friendly at 5pm on a Thursday. Our Waiter Seth was friendly, professional, attentive, and made great recommendations; appreciate his COVID precautions too! Food and wine selection was stellar, unique, professionally made, and reasonably priced. Loved the steak tartar, grilled cheese, and fish dishes.Would definitely come back, and recommend to friends when they are in town!

I loved it. I have a difficult allergy (corn) and our waiter was accommodating, friendly, and knowledgeable about both the menu and the wine list. He made sure that we had the most amazing time while avoiding my admittedly difficult allergen. I would absolutely recommend this place, and huge thanks to Geoffrey who made our evening perfect. We love you!

I’ve been here a number of times over the years and every meal was wonderful! Never left a review, tho I should have, they all would have been 5 stars. This time I was not super happy with one element of what we ordered - but everything else was superb as usual.I ordered the soft crab sandwich and the roll it was in was very bland and not up to par. An improvement might be - serving it open faced on a slice of epi bread, brioche or sourdough baguette ( like the breads at Bouchon Bakery. )Even their grilled artisan bread that comes with the meals would have been a vast improvement!Maybe a smear of avocado too?Everything else we ordered was fantastic - the actual crab itself, the fries, the mussels and the beet salad. Yum.Also the fig Manhattan cocktail was original and wonderfully delicious, in spite of the super sticky glass stem. They have a great patio as well!

Wow! We came in for a small bite and wanted to stay all day because of the service and food! The drinks, made perfectly, the food, sumptuous every bite! The service hands down best I have had in a long time. We had the best in our waiter, Seth, and manger Deidra. Welcoming, beyond efficient, friendly and just the right amount of sass to make to smile! Here for the next three days and sure we will be back for more! Do not allow yourself to miss this hidden gem on the corner of the square!

Had a late lunch here yesterday, I had been to this location several years ago and this place was just as delightful and delicious as I remembered. Our waiter was wonderful. The soup of the day was a cream of carrot (fantastic) and the fig and arugula salad was delicious. It was much too hot to day drink so we didn’t try any cocktails this time, but we did share the Rose and it was very refreshing.Very lovely and delicious place, I will definitely return.

The food and servers were excellent. The food is very well put together and different from anything nearby. Very inventive menu. This restaurant is the hottest spot in Sonoma plaza so it gets busy and the acoustics can make it very loud indoors especially if next to a large party. We also had to wait well beyond our reservation time (15 minutes) to be sat. Nicole, our server, made up for it by being awesome
Markay Havercroft
Loved the quiche and salad. It was so good. Done to perfection. My friends had the mussels and said they were delicious. Wait staff is very accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable. Wonderful place to eat. The outdoor patio was great.

Love love love this restaurant and it never disappoints! I was there with my girlfriends and although we didn't have reservations, they managed to get us a table on the back patio. I couldn't have the risotto because it had mushrooms, but the chef was able to make it for me with peas instead - yummy! They serve bread with regular butter as well as Miyoko's butter(vegan option) as a starter.

This lovely restaurant is situated in the heart of Sonoma offers up delicious french rustic cooking with local wine from the region. If you are a fan of traditional french bistro cooking you will love the food and feel of this establishment. From duck pate and cooked oysters in a bone marrow delightful gravy. You can either go sweet meats or stay with lovely wild mushroom risotto or quiche Lorraine. The menu will impress and delight all. Staff warm and friendly and always helpful in answering questions on food and what’s local wines are best to pair with dinner. Don’t forget to take home some chocolate chip cookies. After a night of savoury food you want something sweet to eat while you recall your evening delight in wonderful cooking.

After an hour of waiting, we finally got seated and started enjoying our dinner. Server was very nice, but the food.. this was the best stake I’ve had in my life. Food is just gorgeous at this restaurant. Thank you.

This spot was highly recommended and it did not disappoint!!!! Stopped into this cute eclectic spot for a snack between wineries…… we tried the mussels and frites. Also enjoy their handcrafted cocktails…… their version of an old fashioned….. with fig of course! Check out their awesome patio! This is a must try spot. Filled with regulars (because it’s amazing)…..and vacationers like us!

We had a fantastic experience at lunch here today! Every staff member was very friendly and we were seated on the patio sooner than expected. I ordered the potato soup and artisan bread to start, duck confit entree, and the cookies and milk for dessert. All were incredibly delicious! I was so impressed I bought both cookbooks on my way out.

Excellent dinner. Great ambiance. Delicious food - try the fig tartine (vegetarian) and fig and arugula salad as starters, followed by tomato risotto (vegetarian) and flat iron steak. The profiteroles were an awesome but huge dessert. The wine list was extensive with many very good local wines. But above all was the most excellent service by Melanie and her crew. Wonderful. We will be back.

Came here for dinner with a party of 8. They usually do not seat larger parties we were told so good we had a reservation. The courtyard area was very cute and set up with heaters which were a plus as the temperature dropped. Food quality was good with the mussels taking the top recommendation from all of us. You have to get the cookies and milk for dessert so make sure you leave some room. Overall we had a great dinner and would come back again.

Very good. My Sirloin burger was delicious, and my husband loved his mussels & frites. Then he finished my burger. We were not able to sit outside, make a reservation, but not too crowded. We finished our meal with a chocolate chip cookie. Awesome! Also had a delicious Rose' wine.

The crispy chicken is to die for!! The service was amazing. They created a great way to social distance tables with these beautiful partitions. Everything about out food and experience we excellent.
