The Big Event for Micro-Wineries

The West Coast wine event that’s made a name for itself by featuring wines you’ve probably never heard of, the Garagiste Wine Festival, returns to Sonoma on Saturday, April 30. The draw is 40+ micro-production wineries from all over Northern California, pouring their rare, hard-to-find specialties.

If corporate mega-wineries are like the dinosaurs of rock music, these are the garage bands. The lineup is limited to commercial winemakers who produce fewer than 1,500 cases per year. Says event founder Doug Minnick, “Over 90 percent of our participants do not have a tasting room, and you’ll never find these wines in grocery stores or on wine country maps.”

The gathering offers wine lovers “a singular chance to discover and meet the next great winemakers, taste their delicious and diverse wines, and talk to them directly about their winemaking styles.”

1pm – 5pm April 30.  $75 – $100
