I love the Tuesday night market. Fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers and all the food truck choices. I love seeing all the families bringing chairs and blankets and getting comfortable on the grass and I love that you can bring your own bottle of wine and food, it's just a great relaxing time.

Historical old school environment. Plenty for shoppers too. Cafes, merchants and specialty stores abound. Peaceful park square for relaxing, with families playing and old growth trees for shade. If plaza us full, park 1-2 blocks off.

Love the plaza, perfect place to picnic. Dogs aren't allowed which is a bummer, but it keeps the grounds chill and clean I guess.Tuesday night Market (May-Oct) is the best! Bring your picnic blanket and a bottle of wine and enjoy the festivities-- it is one of the best things to do in this sweet town. Give General Vallejo a kiss for me! 😘

This is a great spot to enjoy small town USA. Every Tuesday night they have a big gathering of people, food, music and various craft booths. It is a fun event. Swing by sometime and check it out. Try the giant corn dog and other food favorites.

Sonoma plaza is a fantastic place to spend time with a picnic or with your kids. It's a beautiful setting in the middle of the square with nice grass and trees. I do wish they allowed well behaved dogs, though, as that fact keeps us from visiting more often. We also like the events they have there during the week.

The square is a great place to try a variety of experiences. The approximately 10 local ducks sitting unafraid on the grass while you walk by describes the peaceful environment you will encounter on most days. You could picnic on the benches, or dine in historic buildings. If you enjoy a more loud and exciting atmosphere, try joining the town for our Tuesday night farmers market, where everyone takes advantage of the live music and fun booths. Its great for families too, with a large park and the historic San Francisco Solano Mission. I'm a local of 10 years, and I still enjoy a summer night at the square.

Sonoma has a little bit of something for everyone. Great restaurants, bars, ice cream parlor and boutique stores are arranged around three sides of a central square with plenty of grassy areas, picnic tables and a large play area for kids. Highly recommended for a quick walk or an evening out.

Great place to visit if you're not from the area. Tons of wine tasting, great food, art galleries, and boutique shops. Just be ready to either window shop or spend some mega cash. Everything is price gouged because it's a tourist spot.

Highly recommended, and this from an anti-tourist. Hospitality tips the scales in this relatively preserved town square. Historic and hip collide gently in an embrace of live and let live culture. All is good here.

The square in downtown Sonoma is a great place to hang out. Lots of interesting stores, interesting history, and a really nice ambiance. Complete your day by checking out the Mission, the Barracks, and General Vallejo's house to learn a bit about early California history.

I have spent many afternoons at functions at the Plaza over the last couple of decades. Picnics, farmers markets, parades and festivals all of which I have enjoyed the company of my friends, neighbors, and visitors. It is a special place.

I swear I was born on the Plaza right near the duck pond under the giant trees with people feeding the ducks and enjoying French bread from The French Bakery and cheese from The Cheese Factory. This is MY Town! And I LOVE IT even as it goes through growing pains!😘💋

Always a favorite destination. So much to see. So many different restaurants. And, although Cab is abundant, one may find several wonderful Pinots at Walts and Fulcrum wineries. Of course, i must also mention The Girl and the Fig as well as La Casa as well as the galleries. Just so many places to visit

Right in the center of town. One of the last town plaza's where you can have a picnic, hang out and drink alcoholic beverages in public. Historical site: The northeast corner of the plaza in where the Bear Flag Republic was founded before California became part of the USA.Lovely Christmas Lights in December.

A nice walkable plaza with green shaded lawns and fountains with ducks. Plenty of cute shopping on the perimeter. Be aware that dogs and smoking are prohibited on the plaza so take that into account if you have either.

Used to come here with our kids. Fed the ducks, picnicked in the park, tasted cheese, bought ice cream and learned some history. Now we come for wine tasting, dinner, window shopping and more history. A place for everyone!

The plaza is a unique and beautiful experience. There is my personal business, shopping, music, and a bunker for the last California’s Bear Flag Battle, right there on the square. Inside the square itself is a beautiful cool park, where there are ( 😂😂😂) chickens 🐔 that actually fell off a truck several generations ago, and now fill the park with color and cute ness. Most people but a few grumps adore them. There is a theatre 🎭 filled with antiques from the 30s. And there are amazing restaurants. There is a bakery -coffee place on the plaza that bakes the best freshest morning buns EVER. Explore the plaza. You won’t b sorry.
